May was an important month for the regional freight forwarding and logistics community, and Silk Route Shipping Romania was present where the conversation happened: SEEFF x FIATA REU Congress 2026 in Bucharest.
Our colleagues were present at the SEEFF x FIATA REU Congress 2026 in Bucharest hosted by our dear friends and partners from USER.
Over three days, the event brought together freight forwarders, logistics professionals, industry associations, institutional representatives, and transport leaders from across South Eastern Europe and beyond.
A regional logistics event with a global perspective
SEEFF x FIATA REU Congress 2026 created a meeting point between regional freight forwarding expertise and FIATA’s wider European and global perspective.
The event combined the South Eastern European freight forwarding community with the FIATA Region Europe Field Meeting format, making Bucharest a key hub for conversations around transport, logistics, supply chain resilience, intermodal connectivity, and regulatory change.
For us , this type of event is valuable because freight forwarding is built on more than routes and documents. It also depends on strong professional relationships, updated market knowledge, and reliable cooperation between companies, associations, authorities, and transport partners.
What the agenda focused on
The congress agenda covered topics that matter directly to companies moving commercial cargo across borders.
A major part of the discussion focused on security, risk, and compliance in the supply chain. In today’s logistics environment, protecting cargo is not only about physical movement. It also involves partner verification, fraud prevention, documentation accuracy, cybersecurity awareness, insurance, and proper due diligence.
Another important topic was intermodal transport and regional connectivity. The Black Sea, the Danube, the Middle Corridor, road-rail connections, and port infrastructure are becoming increasingly relevant for companies that need flexible and efficient cargo solutions.
The event also placed strong attention on digitalization and evolving European regulations. From electronic transport documents to new compliance requirements, logistics companies are adapting to a market where efficiency, transparency, and regulatory readiness are becoming essential parts of the service.
Beyond the programme: people, meetings, and partnerships
For Silk Route Shipping, the value of SEEFF x FIATA REU Congress 2026 went beyond the official agenda.
The hallway conversations, B2B exchanges, booth visits, and direct meetings were just as important as the conference sessions. Events like this bring the right people into the same room and create space for practical discussions, catching up/reconnecting with old friends and walking down memory lane. We spent quality time with our long-time partners from Lion Broker and TT Club, Claudiu and many more.
The festive dinner was a great occasion for all of us to decompress from the daily tasks. Music and dance activities were the headliner, as USER treated us with traditional rythms and our team led the infamous “Hora”.

Our main takeaway from SEEFF x FIATA REU Congress 2026 is clear: freight forwarding is becoming more connected, more regulated, more digital, and more dependent on strong regional cooperation.
